Terms of Use
Effective date: 6.22.2026
1. Welcome to ARfi
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of ARfi, including the ARfi game, ARfi website, ARfi account features, ARtists tools, playtest access, music placement systems, collection systems, ArtM systems, and related services.
By using ARfi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ARfi.
ARfi may be offered as an early, experimental, or evolving product. Features may change, break, reset, disappear, or be redesigned over time.
2. What ARfi Is
ARfi is a spatial music experience. It lets users discover, collect, listen to, and place music in real-world locations through augmented reality, location-based features, and interactive music systems.
ARfi includes two separate areas:
- ARfi Game: the user experience for discovering, collecting, listening to, placing, and interacting with music in AR.
- ARtists: the artist-facing experience for submitting music, managing artist access, and participating in ARfi’s music ecosystem.
3. Accounts
You may need an account to use certain ARfi features. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that happens through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and not impersonate another person, artist, brand, company, organization, or public figure.
ARfi may suspend, restrict, or close accounts that violate these Terms, create safety risks, abuse the service, infringe rights, or harm the ARfi ecosystem.
4. ARfi Game Terms
The ARfi game allows users to discover, collect, place, and interact with music through augmented reality and location-based systems.
Collecting music inside ARfi gives you access to that music inside the ARfi experience. It does not give you ownership of the copyright, master recording, composition, artwork, artist name, or any other intellectual property connected to that music.
Placing music in ARfi means making it available as part of the ARfi experience. ARfi may limit, move, hide, remove, reset, or moderate placed music if needed for safety, performance, legal compliance, product quality, or platform integrity.
5. Real-World Safety
ARfi is designed for real-world exploration. You are fully responsible for your own safety while using ARfi.
- Do not use ARfi while driving, cycling, crossing roads, operating equipment, or doing anything that requires full attention.
- Do not trespass or enter private, restricted, dangerous, unsafe, or prohibited areas.
- Always pay attention to your surroundings, traffic, people, animals, weather, terrain, and local conditions.
- Follow local laws, campus rules, venue rules, property rules, and public safety instructions.
- Do not place music in locations that could encourage unsafe movement, trespassing, crowding, harassment, or dangerous behavior.
- Use headphones responsibly and keep enough awareness of your environment.
ARfi is not responsible for injuries, accidents, property damage, trespassing, legal issues, or other harm caused by unsafe use of the app.
6. AR, Location, and Device Accuracy
ARfi uses device sensors, camera access, location data, AR systems, network access, and platform services. These features may be inaccurate, unavailable, delayed, unstable, or affected by your device, environment, permissions, GPS quality, lighting, surface detection, internet connection, or operating system.
ARfi does not guarantee that music, AR objects, locations, surfaces, rewards, or placements will appear exactly where expected.
7. ArtM and In-App Economy
ARfi may include ArtM, energy, collection limits, music placement systems, exchange systems, rewards, or other in-app economy features.
Unless ARfi clearly states otherwise in writing, ArtM and similar in-app values are digital in-app features only. They do not represent real money, stored value, securities, ownership shares, financial products, or a promise of payment.
ARfi may adjust, reset, rebalance, remove, or correct ArtM, rewards, placements, collections, prices, or economy values if needed for testing, fairness, fraud prevention, technical fixes, product changes, or legal compliance.
8. User Content
You may only upload, place, publish, submit, display, or share content that you own or have permission to use.
User content includes music, artwork, names, usernames, artist names, metadata, descriptions, images, text, profile information, placement data, and any other material submitted to ARfi.
You must not upload, place, publish, or submit content that:
- infringes copyright, trademark, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights;
- contains illegal, hateful, abusive, violent, harassing, threatening, or sexually exploitative material;
- misleads users about identity, authorship, ownership, location, pricing, or availability;
- contains malware, spam, scams, phishing, or harmful code;
- creates legal, safety, platform, or reputational risk for ARfi.
ARfi may remove, hide, limit, reject, or moderate content at any time if it violates these Terms or harms the ARfi experience.
9. ARtists Terms
ARtists is the artist-facing part of ARfi. It may allow artists, labels, managers, or authorized representatives to submit music, manage artist identity, provide metadata, and participate in ARfi’s spatial music ecosystem.
ARtists access may be approved, rejected, limited, suspended, or removed at ARfi’s discretion.
Artists are responsible for ensuring that all submitted tracks, cover art, artist names, metadata, credits, samples, vocals, lyrics, and promotional materials are accurate, lawful, and fully cleared.
10. ARtists AI-Generated Music Policy
AI-generated music is banned from ARtists.
For ARfi, AI-generated music means music in which most of the track was made through a prompt or automated generation system rather than through a genuine musical creative process by a human artist.
ARfi’s purpose is to support real musical creativity. Music must come primarily from human artistic work, such as composition, performance, recording, production, arrangement, writing, musicianship, or intentional creative direction.
Basic technical assistance may be acceptable when it does not replace the core creative process. Examples may include noise reduction, mastering support, file cleanup, stem organization, or workflow tools. However, if the main musical work was generated mostly by prompting an AI system, it is not allowed.
If ARfi finds that an ARtists user submitted AI-generated music, ARfi may issue a warning, remove the track, limit the account, or request proof of authorship.
Three warnings for AI-generated music violations may lead to the ARtists account being closed.
Severe or intentional abuse, repeated deception, fake artist identity, copyright fraud, or mass AI submissions may lead to immediate account closure without waiting for three warnings.
11. ARtists Rights and License
Artists keep ownership of the music and materials they own. By submitting music or content to ARfi, you give ARfi a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, display, promote, preview, distribute within ARfi, and make the content available through ARfi features.
This license is needed so ARfi can operate the app, show tracks, display artwork, power AR placements, show music cards, run artist pages, and make the music experience available to users.
You must not submit music if you do not have the rights needed to grant ARfi this license.
12. ARtists Payments and Access
ARfi may offer free, paid, invite-only, subscription, early access, or limited ARtists features.
Any payments, subscriptions, artist access fees, promotional tools, or creator tools will be governed by the checkout terms, app store terms, or specific agreement shown at the time of purchase.
Unless ARfi separately agrees in writing, submission to ARtists does not guarantee payment, promotion, placement, discovery, revenue, visibility, or any specific performance.
13. Copyright and Takedowns
ARfi respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on ARfi infringes your rights, contact ARfi with enough information to identify the content and explain the issue.
ARfi may remove or restrict content that appears to infringe rights or create legal risk. Repeat infringers may have their accounts suspended or closed.
14. Prohibited Use
You agree not to misuse ARfi. Prohibited uses include:
- attacking, reverse engineering, scraping, overloading, disrupting, or interfering with ARfi;
- using bots, scripts, fake accounts, modified clients, or automation to manipulate ARfi;
- manipulating GPS, location, collection, placement, ArtM, rewards, or economy systems;
- using ARfi for stalking, harassment, threats, hate, abuse, scams, or unsafe behavior;
- selling, transferring, renting, or exploiting accounts, access, ArtM, placements, or rewards without permission;
- uploading malware, spam, illegal content, or rights-infringing content;
- attempting to bypass security, moderation, payment, artist review, or access controls.
15. Early Access and Testing
ARfi may be offered as a closed test, public test, prototype, beta, or early access product.
During testing, ARfi may remove test data, reset accounts, change ArtM balances, modify music placement, delete placements, change collection rules, limit access, or disable features to improve the product.
You understand that test features may not represent the final product.
16. Privacy
ARfi may process account information, device information, usage data, location-related data, and content data to operate the service.
ARfi’s use of personal information is explained in the ARfi Privacy Policy.
17. Intellectual Property
ARfi, its design, brand, software, interface, visual identity, systems, game mechanics, AR systems, website, original content, logos, and related materials are owned by ARfi or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative products from ARfi unless you have written permission.
18. Third-Party Services
ARfi may rely on third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, cloud services, maps, AR platforms, payment providers, analytics, and device operating systems.
ARfi is not responsible for third-party outages, restrictions, policies, fees, removals, errors, or platform decisions.
19. Disclaimers
ARfi is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that ARfi will always be available, accurate, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or compatible with every device.
ARfi does not guarantee that any music, placement, account, artist submission, ArtM balance, feature, or reward will remain available forever.
ARfi does not provide emergency services, navigation safety, legal advice, financial advice, or professional advice.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARfi is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, content, account access, ArtM, placements, or opportunities.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARfi is not liable for harm caused by unsafe real-world behavior, trespassing, ignoring surroundings, device misuse, location errors, AR inaccuracies, user content, artist content, third-party services, or unauthorized account use.
21. Suspension and Termination
ARfi may suspend, restrict, or close your account if you violate these Terms, create risk for users, abuse the service, infringe rights, submit prohibited content, misuse ARtists, manipulate the game economy, or harm the ARfi ecosystem.
You may stop using ARfi at any time. Some legal obligations may continue after your account is closed, including intellectual property, payment, safety, limitation of liability, and content-related obligations.
22. Changes to ARfi
ARfi may change, update, redesign, pause, discontinue, or remove features at any time.
ARfi may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the website, app, email, or another reasonable method.
Continued use of ARfi after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
